Monthly retention slides compress useful edges. A mid-month price test, a failed email domain, or a billing vendor cutover can hide inside a single monthly point.
What weekly tables reveal
When we receive weekly cohort counts, we can mark the exact week a grace setting changed or a festival campaign launched. The conversation shifts from “Q2 was soft” to “week 27 after the retry rule change.”
What we still accept
Not every team can export weekly tables on day one. In those cases a cohort review starts with monthly figures and a request for a narrower weekly pull around the suspected event. Perfect data is not the entry ticket; honest gaps are.
For founders preparing an intake
If you are requesting a retention review, attach whatever weekly export you can. Even a spreadsheet with rough labels helps more than a polished poster with no dates.
